What the numbers mean
Power usage effectiveness compares total facility power to the power reaching the equipment. Closer to 1.0 is better; anything under about 1.3 is genuinely efficient.
Renewable energy claims vary
Buying certificates is not the same as running on renewable power. The stronger claim is matching consumption to generation hour by hour.
What a customer can reasonably ask
Facility efficiency figures, the energy mix, and hardware refresh policy. Vague sustainability language without numbers deserves scepticism.
